How would you furnish this room?
Anyone else feel like you can never have enough storage? Or do you struggle to know where to place furniture?
I worked on a recent interior design project to help my client create a layout for an oddly shaped living room. Although the room is big, the client was unsure how to layout the furniture and where to add storage and an electric fire.
The goal was to create three zones, one for watching TV, a reading space and a play space for their baby. The storage was used to unify the three areas with one colour palette.

How to apply sustainable principals to architecture and design

Here is what I have come up with so far. I am planning to bring these principals into all projects going forward.
I hope to expand on this further, as it’s a very important topic. Do you have any other suggestions or ways to reduce our impact during construction?

So, you have designed your dream space, and to achieve it you will need to apply for Planning Permission to your local authority. In this blog post I will try to explain the process in the most concise and understandable way, so that you can move forward with confidence.

The Fundamentals of Great Design: Sustainability + Well Being
Recent studies indicate that we spend 90% of our time indoors or in cars. With figures as low as 7% of our time spent in nature. Because of this, architects face the challenge of creating comfortable and healthy interiors.

The Fundamentals of Great Design: Functional, Bespoke + Flexible Design
Design solutions that are specifically tailored for the client will always end up more successful than something more generic or off the shelf

The Fundamentals of Great Design: Movement + Organisation
Spatial planning is a key tool at the beginning of the design process.

The Fundamentals of Great Design: Scale + Proportion
We perceive the space around us in relation to our own body measurements or in comparison with a known dimension such as a double bed.

The Fundamentals of Great Design: Context
How a building sits in an existing context or environment.
